I set out this year to do more. I didn’t know what that meant exactly, but I achieved that. I accomplished more this year than I thought I would, and despite it’s many ups and many downs, it was a great year for me and my photography. I met many people that love and support my work, and have made many strides in progressing myself as not only an artist, but a person. So in honor of this fucked up, crazy, year filled with blessings in disguise, I’m posting my favorite 16 photos of 2016 (in no particular order) and giving a little back story behind each one. Herobust - Lights All Night 2015
Lights All Night is a EDM fest that takes place on New Year’s and New Year’s Eve. I was lucky enough to be apart of the in-house photo team and it was definitely a great way to kick off the New Year and it was dope getting to shoot so many dope producers All Access.
G-Eazy - Austin Music Hall
I started working a lot more closely with ScoreMore this year and got to shoot pretty much every Austin show they put on! This was back in February and was by far the biggest artist and show I’d shot until then. I later got to meet G backstage at Mala Luna and show him this. He was pretty stoked on it! Super chill dude.
Logic - Stubb’s Outdoor Amphitheater
I shot G-Eazy and Logic within a couple days of each other which was craazy to me! I went from shooting shows at the Parish to shooting back to back at Stubb’s and Austin Music Hall!
Neck Deep - SXSW 2016
I love pop-punk but had never been to a show before this year. I got the chance to go to and shoot my first pop-punk show at SXSW during The Noise showcase and the lineup was CRAZY, featuring Neck Deep, State Champs, Knuckle Puck, Like Pacific, and more. Not a bad place to start...
Post Malone - Emo’s
No lie, Post Malone has grown on me... a lot! Got to shoot him three times this year and this was my favorite shot from all three shows. Go head, Stoney.
Allan Kingdom - The Parish
Allan opened up fro Denzel Curry during his tour earlier this year which was when I snapped this shot of him. Probably my favorite crowd photo I’ve ever taken. Shooting from the pit is cool and all, but the crowd is where it’s at.
Travis Scott - JMBLYA Austin
I remember being so tired the second day of JMBLYA that I didn’t even shoot Future’s set that day. I was just chilling in the photo pit watching the show when Trey looks at me and says “you got your camera?” I replied “no,” and he grabbed me and we hailed ass to the production trailer to grab my camera and made it back just in time for Travis to start his surprise set. There was only one other photographer in the pit during the whole performance so s/o to Trey for being alert and allowing me to get this shot.
ScHoolboy Q - Southside Ballroom
Snapped this of Q when he was doing his Groovy Tony Pit Stops in Dallas. Such an awesome artist and he dropped one of my favorite projects of the last year!
Jazz Cartier - Emo’s
I first met Jazz at JMBLYA this year, then got the chance to meet up and shoot him again when he went on tour with Post Malone. He’s one of the most energetic performers I’ve seen and it’s always mad fun to shoot him. Showed him this after his set and he was pretty stoked on it. Definitely my favorite silhouette of the year.
Future - JMBLYA Dallas
Saw the King of Dirty Sprite 3 times this year. As far as rappers go that actually perform/sing their own songs, Future is up there! Was honestly surprised by how much of his songs he actually sings and how similar they sound to the studio versions when performed live. If you have the chance to see Future perform, GO! Whether you like his music or not, you won't be disappointed.
Rae Srummerd - JMBLYA Dallas
Got to shoot these guys a couple times this year and they’re another bunch super full of energy and fun to shoot! Some dude was shooting with their flash right outside the frame of the shot which is how I got the dope lighting on Jimmy in this photo. The sun was just starting to set on a brutally hot day and overall made for some nice, soft tones in the back.
Travis Scott - Mala Luna
This was the second time I shot Travis this year. He doesn’t like photos of his face, but I liked this too much.
Lights All Night 2015
